After two rejected offers and conciliation bargaining, we are pleased to report that our membership working for GFL Solid Waste in Regina and Moose Jaw have voted 85% in favour of a new five-year agreement.
Highlights of this agreement include a retroactive wage increase to January 1st, 2025, and increases again in every subsequent year totaling 12% over the term, employer pension contribution increases, positive language changes and the introduction of floater days which maintained 10 days of paid leave!
Congratulations to Business Agent Richard Rose, Secretary-Treasurer Joshua Cenaiko and the entire membership on a job well done on a tough round of negotiations!
“Richard Rose did a hell of a job bringing back a deal our members can be proud of which sets the standard for waste drivers in Saskatchewan. It provides some peace of mind and stability for our members. With non-union waste employees closely watching, I know our organizer’s phone is going to get a little busier.”- Joshua Cenaiko, Secretary-Treasurer
